Where can I incorporate "something old" on my wedding dress?
The groom's mother wants me to wear an old locket with pictures of HER grandparents inside. I'm already wearing a pearl necklace, earrings and bracelet with my dress. Is there any other way I can include this sentimental piece on me? I am going to have a bouquet charm with a picture of my deceased father. I don't want to add the grooms great- grandparents to that especially if he never even knew them. Someone told me to wrap the locket on my garter belt but that doesn't sound right to me. Any advice as to where I can incorporate this piece?

Tell your MIL that you don't feel comfortable wearing that on your wedding day. You don't know the people in the locket and neither does your fiance. The only charm of remembrance you want to carry on you is for your Dad. Maybe the groom can carry the locket in his pocket. It only holds sentimental value to her so maybe she can wear it. If you go about it tactfully and have your fiance back you up, she should be ok with it. And if she isn't Ok with it - oh well. I think it is very nice of you to consider incorporating it but it was pretty presumptious of her to expect you to wear it in the first place.
