Does anyone really buy handmade Jewelry? I make jewelry from sterling silver and gemstones but I dont have as much success as I had hoped for selling it online. Does anyone here honestly buy handmade jewelry?
Handmade jewelry is best sold at craft fairs and trade shows. The types of people who buy handmade, unique jewelry want to meet the person who made it. They're the types of people who want to wear the piece, then when they get complimented on it, they say, "Yes, I bought this from a lovely woman in SoHo who made this. She had a little stand under a tree and I just love it!"
I've bought some unique hand made stuff. I have a beautiful silver and garnet bracelet I bought from a lady at a charity even where 30% of her profits went to breast cancer. I just love it. It's really well made and I plan on passing it on to my daughter one day.
You'll do better business by going to craft fairs, country fairs, swap meets, etc.
