Can you trade pokemon between pokemon fire red and pokemon ruby?

I'm on one island on fire red, i fixed the machine but i still can't trade with ruby
i already got the ruby and sapphire but it still won't work

Indeed, you can trade between Fire Red/Leaf Green to Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

While on One Island, you only fixed the PC to connect to the Kanto mainland. You still must help Cileo fix the Network Machine that connects to the Hoenn region by collecting the Ruby and Sapphire stones to make it work.

You find the stones by exploring more of the Sevii Islands.
